Why is that each thousand words of the final 10K words takes as long to write as the first 10K words?
Part of the problem is realizing, as the ending, that I need a lot more support put in to make the characters' actions justifiable, but I don't want to stop and rewrite prior text until I'm sure where the ending is going to be, so I have to toss in little notes saying "Foreshadow this!" and "Come up with why they're doing this!". Part of the problem is that what the characters are doing makes some sense given the actual situation, but it DOESN'T make sense given what they'd suspect/believe/guess was the situation... if that makes sense.

My problem is, I have a lot of foreshadowing, but not the big payoff. I need to define the MacGuffin. Once that's in, I'm golden. Maybe we should trade!
